AmeriSeed went into the new year with smiles all around after receiving news that our Torenia Vertigo Deep Blue F1 was selected as the All American Selections (AAS) 2022 Ornamental Winner. Our entire team, from breeders and seed production to inventory and packing, are proud to see that this robust variety has received praise from the other side of the globe. To hear that our product made an impression among AAS’s team of volunteer professionals after their in-depth observations over the course of a growing season is exceptionally rewarding.
Deep Blue is one of five colours that Torenia Vertigo is available in, with Blue & White, White, Rose and Magenta rounding out a lineup that suits a variety of indoor and outdoor settings and designs. The plant holds up brilliantly in high heat and humidity, continuously flowering throughout its lifespan. It even thrives living in direct sunlight. One of the advantages of breeding in Southeast Asia.
The name ‘Vertigo’ is inspired by our founder’s fondness for classic cinema, the film Vertigo starring James Stewart being one of his favourites.
